In Amharic, "kurat" means pride.  Our family heritage camp in southeast Michigan mixes recreation with educational workshops and Ethiopian cultural activities.

Kamp Kurat is for families with Ethiopian children… parents, kids (biological and adopted), grandparents… whoever makes your family a family.  We represent all kinds of families - many of us are new to Ethiopian culture through the adoption of Ethiopian children, others are immigrants or children of immigrants looking to share a little of Ethiopia with our families.  However you came to love Ethiopia, we welcome you to join us for our 9th annual heritage camp weekend.
